hoppy easter!

I’m a bunny, DUHH!

I am starting to realize that holidays as an adult kind of suck.
All of the creativity and make believe disappears making you wish you could have your childhood back.
I have been making more of an effort to give presents rather than receive them.Yes, it is hurting my bank account but it is so worth it to give to others. For years my parents have put so much effort into my Easter basket I thought it was time to return the favor!

Just a few things for Mamma that I knew she would like!

Decorating for holidays has become my new favorite. My mom has boxes of decorations for each holiday so decorating the house house been a place to become creative. I am looking forward to the day I can decorate my own home! Of course I used our Martha Stewart plates for the occasion!

Mamma and I got a little creative with a cake we saw on Pinterest. Now is this a Pinterest Win or a Pinterest Fail??

Even Eddy got in on the Easter celebrations!FullSizeRender (19)

currently-reading

Call me crazy but I love to read for pleasure. In college I spent too many hours reading hundreds of pages of research, articles and books for classes. In the summer I would have a book with me constantly and living on the beach makes the best place to read.

But now that I am out of school and I have no deadlines to read a 300 page book by the end of the week, Netflix in bed is a lot more tempting than reading before bed. I have so many books started but no interest to finish them. But lately I picked up a book and could not put it down!

I am currently obsessed with The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins. It is an easy read with a mystery that doesn’t get solved until the last few pages. It is definitely a page turner!  And good news, the movie comes out in October so here is the deadline to finish it by if you are one of those people that NEEDS to read the book before seeing the movie like I am! traingirl.jpg

Spring Break Essentials

The only thing worse than having to go to class in nice weather, is having to work all day in nice weather! Since in the real world there is no spring break, I am day dreaming about being on an island somewhere and not at my desk. I am also sharing some spring break essentials in case you are lucky enough to be going somewhere. Hope everyone is enjoying this nice warm weather while it lasts!

Hello, March

Is it just me or did February feel like the month that would never end? It really was forever and a day thanks to Leap Year! At least we are one more month closer to spring. It is time to start switching out wardrobes, decorating the house for spring and planning for fun adventures in March!

Work: Step one of things to do this month is change your desktop wallpaper. Who knows the last time it was changed?! But instead of making it a collage of friends or cute puppies, make it something that is actually practical for work. Say what you want about her but this girl has a good website of useful things. Or I should say, she pays a lot of people money to make a good website for the millennial girl in the workforce today.

Gym: Sign up at Influenster and take advantage of their Target C9 campaign. Join the challenge and you can get 40% off a sports bra. I was able to use the coupon on a bra that was already on sale so it ended up being $3… win! There are more prizes if you post it to social media accounts too!

Netflix: Currently binge watching/ obsessed with Friday Night Lights. It actually makes me miss high school and I hated high school. If you know nothing about football and want to learn about the sport, this show is the one for you!

Products I love: I am a very lazy person and in the winter it only gets worse. On an impulse buy I decided to get the new Nivea in shower body lotion body wash. I am in LOVE! My legs are hidden under pants all month long so my body needs some TLC! Say goodbye to dry skin and hello to hydration! Perfect for lazy people!

Home: This month I have made an effort to work on the relationships I have with people more. Reuniting with old friends, spending time with my parents and making new friends. It is a lot of effort but I have learned it is something that should always be a priority no matter how busy our life is.  I am so lucky to still be close to some college friends even though we are all moving in different directions struggling in our own post grad life struggles. I was able to surprise my parents with presents on Valentine’s Day which brings me more joy to be able to bring joy to others!

Rainy days are no fun and this week it looks like the rain will not go away!

I have put together some of my rainy day essentials. I wish I was at home on the couch curled up reading a book but instead I am stuck in this gloomy office today!

Happy Taxes Season!

taxes

After years of having my dad and our family accountant handle my taxes I decided it was time to be a real adult and do it myself. I felt to so proud of the “I can do it!” feeling I had with this new adult thing. But after I agreed to do it I was worried what I got into ….
