What I Wore This Week 4

I’m a little behind on sharing my outfits on the blog because my life is been so busy lately but I’ve been loving every moment! Almost!! πŸ™‚ I love doing this new series on the blog because it helps motivate me to create new outfits to photograph before work. After more than a year of wearing leggings and considering them to be real pants, I’m excited to shop my own closet. November feels like it flew by and I’m not sure if I’m ready for the Christmas holiday season! The day before we were driving down to North Carolina I was rushing to pack and didn’t have enough time to plan outfits so I just threw everything in a small overnight bag. When we got to my parent’s house it was clear that I didn’t really think my outfits through but luckily I packed enough sweaters to get through the weekend! We enjoyed the warmer temperatures in the South but were greeted with frigid weather when we got back! I didn’t realize I’d be wearing my big parka this early! This weekend I am taking my Christmas wardrobe out of storage so expect to see a lot of red and plaid on my Instagram this month!

BRRRR It has been very chilly the last few days! Working from home in the morning is convenient because I can wear a cute (but old) J Crew sweater with sparkly details and slippers and no one knows!
The release of RED TV felt like a national holiday so I celebrated by wearing red to work. I found this really old Hollister top in the back of my closet recently and love the fun sleeve details.
Another cold day means another sweater to stay warm! I have this sweater from Loft in so many colors and I hope they bring it back because I’m always wearing it on cold days.
A busy day at work before heading to school means a professional look from the waist up! I keep reaching for blouses from Loft to wear under cardigans when I have Zoom meetings. My schedule is a bit of a hybrid model with working from home in the mornings and then in the afternoon I head to school for programs. I need something cute, professional, and kid-friendly so this has been my go-to look.
Another busy morning on Zoom meetings before heading to Jersey for site visits at different schools. A perk of working in schools after-school is that I can wear jeans and sneakers. I stocked up on cute white sneakers over the summer and they have been great to wear keeping up with the kids. I prefer the sneakers from Target since they are inexpensive and I don’t mind if they get destroyed during programs.

December Old Navy Try On

Today I’m doing something I rarely do and sharing an Old Navy try on because the sales right now are so good! I picked up some great pieces for wearing around the house and for when I go back to the office… one day!Β Almost everything at Old Navy is on sale all month long and featuring daily deals with amazing prices on items!

Wearing size small and they fit great! I want to note that they are see through so wear nude undies!

Christmas Pajamas That Give Me Comfort and Joy!

OUTFIT DETAILS
pajamas

Β I believe that you can never have too many Christmas pajamas! I’ve always been obsessed with Christmas pajamas and slippers and like to treat myself to a new pair (or two) every Christmas. This year, I’m going to take advantage of staying at home all the time and wear all of my cute pajamas every day.Β I have a system, day pajamas for during the day when I want to stay festive and cozy and night time pajamas for when I sleep. It’s the only way that I can wear all of my holiday pajamas!

After seeing that pajamas were on sale at Old Navy a few days ago, I got a bunch of different patterns as well as matching pajamas for Jake and I. Even though the holidays will look a little different this year, doesn’t mean we are going to break all of the traditions. I’m so lucky to have a guy in my life who loves our tradition of matching Christmas pajamas as much as I do. We take choosing a print each year very seriously!

At this point, I think I can wear a different set of Christmas pajamas and not have to do laundry until after Christmas! They bring me so much joy and I would not be surprised if a few more packages with pajamas in them came to the house between now and December 25th.Β You can’t beat the prices of Old Navy pajamas so I like to stock up on lots of prints because i can never choose just one! Also want to mention that they are not a heavy flannel making them comfortable to sleep in.

For anyone looking for Christmas presents for friends or family, it would be a cute idea to send them pajama pants, a matching tee, and some slippers! It’s going to be a cold and dark winter and we could all use some fun, cheerful pajamas!

How I’m Wearing Ankle Boots This Season

It’s currently raining while I sit in my office planning content for this month so it must mean that it’s officially boots season! We have had some weather that teased us of an endless summer the last few weeks which have been making my daily walks very enjoyable. At times I’ve wished for a breeze or two when I actually dressed for fall weather and not for the warmer days it has been recently. I’m excited to start wearing my boots again because they are such a closet staple in the colder months. They are just so comfy and are fun to wear. I remember when I first started buying them a few years ago and there weren’t that many options, classic leather or suede and usually in conservative designs and colors. Nowadays, there are so many different designs and looks you can put together with booties. Right now I have my eyes on black booties with pearl details which is a genius way to switch things up with the classic black boot and make it more feminine. I put together some boots I have my eyes on this season and I hope it inspires you to add some new boots with embellishments and fun new details to your closet this year.

  1. CLASSIC BLACK SUEDE

I have a pair of black suede booties that I call my comfortable but fashionable commuting shoe for work. Obviously I’m not commuting to an office these days, but at one time they were once my favorite shoe to slip on and chase after the train. I love a suede boot for everyday wear and the scallop details on these add a nice feminine detail to them.

2. UPDATED WESTERN

When I went to Nashville a few years ago I looked at the traditional western cowboy boots and walked out of the store when I saw the price of a boot I would wear once. That is why I love these updated western style because they are cute as well as practical for an everyday style. Pair with a dress or skirt with black tights for a more comfortable option than heels for a dressed up look.

3. CLASSIC LEATHER

Over time I have accumulated a few pairs of leather Cole Haan boots because the quality is amazing and they will last for a long time. I’m a big fan of this style because they are great for weather (rain and snow) and only improve over time as they get worn in. I’ll be grabbing these a lot as my go-to daily shoe to run errands or a daily walk.

4. MODERN STYLE

I love this chic boot because it’s versatile and really can go with any outfit. The sleek and pointed toe make any outfit sexy and dress up a look without much effort. Wear with black tights for a polished sleek look or tuck in your pants to show off the structure of the boot.

5. PATENT

No doubt this style turns heads with it’s shine and sleek silhouette. I’m loving this new take on this modern style boot because it can be worn with light denim during the day or dresses at night. I hope this trendy style stays for a while because it’s such a fresh take on the classic black boot.

6. ANIMAL PRINT

For those who have enough black boots in their closet and are looking for something new, I love this splash of animal print. When you need a break from the usual black boots, the animal print add some fun to any outfit without overly committing to the animal print look.

7. EMBELLISHMENTS

This year is all about the embellishments on boots and I am loving every style I see. I like this style specifically because it’s fun while still being conservative with the crystal balls on the heels. At first glance it’s a great leather boot and the embellishments add some fun to any outfit. The embellishments can help elevate any look and allows you to have add some sparkle to an all black outfit.

8. PEARLS

How did I go this long without boots that have pearls on them?! I first saw this style trending a few weeks ago and it immediately made me stop scrolling to stare at them. These are perfect for those who are looking for a more feminine boot style. Pair with a pink coat or preppy black and white outfit to take chic to a whole new level. Never in a million years would I pair pearls with combat boots or think to wear combat boots with a preppy outfit until now.

My J. Crew Factory Holiday Favorites

I haven’t done much shopping for holiday outfits because my closet is already filled with so many festive pieces. Most importantly is that they are all classic and work year after year and most of them are from J. Crew Factory. There is just something about their plaid that gets me into the holiday spirit! Since there are so many good sales going on right now because of the holidays, I thought it would be a good time to share my J. Crew Factory holiday faves.

Statement Holiday Top // I have one from last season that I wore constantly throughout December. I am excited to see it back this season in a new tartan print! This top is classic and can easily be worn for work everyday or for a festive occasion.

Fair Isle Sweater // Every year J. Crew Factory has a perfectly preppy version of the classic fair isle sweater.

The Vail Parka // I love this coat so much that I bought it three times! I currently have it in a grey, red, and black.

Pearl Headband // It looks like headbands are back in style and my two day dirty hair appreciates it! The headbands are an easy accessory to wear and are a perfect gift for a friend.

Scallop Camis // I have a few of these camis and wear them the entire year. Super cute for the summer months and can be worn with a cardigan during the colder months. I love wearing these with a sparkly necklace as the adult version of the going out outfit.

Velvet Bow Hair Ties // This was the number one item on my Christmas wish list last year and I wear these constantly to work. On my busier days at work, I like to put my hair up in a pony tail and these are great when I need a little something to make me look a little more professional and less frazzled.

Tissue Turtlenecks // If you are one of those people that can’t wear turtlenecks because of how they make your neck feel, then I highly encourage you to scoop up a few of these. When I wear skirts to work I often wear it with a tissue turtleneck for a chic look and they look great with jeans when I want to go for a classic look.

Sweaters // You can never have too many and you can never go wrong with a classic sweater for that preppy holiday look. I’m actually embarrassed by how many sweaters I own and I really do wear all of them!
