One of the best parts about being out of school is that there are no papers or homework to get in the way of saying yes to spontaneous road trips.

the more you love your decisions, the less you need others to love them
To start, I am not a religious person. My path of faith is different than everyone else’s and that is what makes faith so special. Not one persons faith is higher than the others, we are all just on different paths to the same thing.
Lent is a time we should be reflecting on our daily lives and how we can make ourselves better people. There are so many short cuts in life, ways to lie, distractions and ways to get in trouble. By taking the time to learn our faults, we can begin to become better people not just for ourselves but with the relationships we have with people.

Let’s talk money. I recently checked my bank statement and it is not where I would like it to be. I have enough in my savings and a steady income coming in to help cover my bills. Like most post grad lifers we have a lot of bills (student loan ugh) that we need to pay. My goal after graduating was to become financially independent and start taking on a bigger responsibility when it comes to my life. I bought a car in my name, pay my own car insurance and Nelnet will be the most consistent thing in my life for the next decade! What was I thinking?? I see more money coming out of my checking account than I would like. While balancing my checkbook (LOL who am I?!) I decided I needed to start budgeting better.
I love sales. I am really good at getting pretty things on sale and love to swipe my AmEx. For the next few months I am going to try to keep my AmEx in my wallet to collect some dust. When I see clearance or sale I need to just see what is there. It is not just with clothes or things but when I go food shopping as well. In my house I do the food shopping so I usually end up with tons of things I do not need in my cart.

Shopping Rules
No more browsing, it only allows you to pick up unnecessary things
Make a list before you shop, know what you are going out to buy first
Coupons, coupons, coupons!
Think of where and how you will use it before you buy
If you buy it, where will you put it
Try to think of at least five times you will use it
Just because it is the worlds greatest find, does not mean you need it
What are some of your favorite money saving shopping tips?
Cubicle Sweet Cubicle
<br/>
Just because you have to spend all day at your desk that does not mean you can’t have some fun! If we have to sit in front of our desks for hours at a time we should at least personalize the space and make it pretty! Inspire your Monday with some cubicle or desk decorating tips!
For Christmas I surprised a friend with some goodies for her cubicle. I put together some of the office goodies I picked up for her and what is on my desk. I got everything at TJ Maxx and Homegoods which really helped with my budget. This style may not fit everyone but I encourage you all to go out and spruce up your desk some way this week. I started writing with a new pen and got pink post its, a subtle change but these winter months need some pop of color!
It’s time to inspire your home away from home!
running late is my cardio

On Sunday morning I dragged my butt out of bed at 8am to go to a yoga class. I don’t even wake up that early to get to work during the week! Which explains why I am late to work every day since I have to be in the office at 8:30 and I usually roll out of bed around 8:15. (oops!) So I get to the yoga class a few minutes late and become that awkward person tripping over her own feet to get a spot on the floor. The class begins with meditation. I lay there with my heart beating fast after running up two flights of stairs to get to the room. The instructor says to concentrate on my breathing but my long list of things to do for that day are crowding my head. Continue reading “running late is my cardio”
the accidental new years eve resolution

On New Years Eve everyone makes promises that by February or March we have forgotten about or just given up on. No, you are not going to drink three water bottles a day or eat a piece of fruit everyday or even start running if it is not something you actually force yourself to do or naturally want to do it. New Years Eve resolutions turn more into burdens because we have to do something instead of doing it naturally. That is why this year I completed something that most people put on their lists by accident, because I wasn’t even trying!
In 2015 I traveled. A lot. While making my list I kept remembering more and more places I went to!
January
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Jackson, Mississippi
New Orleans, Louisiana
Bayou La Batre, Alabama
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
March
Charlotte, North Carolina
Florence, South Carolina
Columbia, South Carolina
Charleston, South Carolina
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

April
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

May
Atlantic City, New Jersey
Ocean Grove, New Jersey
Summer
After four years of primarily living in Philadelphia for school I made an effort to fall in love again with my hometown and visit towns around me. It was funny how after living near all of this for so many years, being away gave me a new love and excitement to travel to these places.
Ocean Grove | Belmar | Bradley Beach | Asbury Park | Avalon Beach | Monmouth Park Race Track |

November
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
New York
Connecticut
Boston, Massachusetts
This year I have learned to just say yes to every adventure that comes my way. I haven’t flown since I was a little kid and that was a big fear to get over but in just a few months I was able to transfer flights and pack like a pro. Some of these trips were planned for months in advance and others were planned very last minute. But because I forced myself to take time to leave my regularly dull and boring day to day life I hopped on a plane or in a car and just went. We can make up so many excuses on why not to go, why can’t we make up excuses to go?
Cheers to 2016 and hopefully new states and adventures to see!
