Friday Favorites

This has been a very long week for me and I am so happy the weekend is finally here! Somehow, life got in the way and I ran out of time to put up a Friday Favorites post for last week, so lots of favorites in today’s post!

What I’m Watching

Through my American Express, I received three months of Amazon Prime for free and honestly, I didn’t need the free shipping to convince me to sign up because the Amazon Video is amazing itself. I spent so many hours this week watching movies after work and I am finally watching Suits from the beginning because it is the only place you can stream it online. I forgot how good this show is and I kept waking up an hour earlier than normal to watch an episode in the morning before work. I seriously have a problem!

Products I’m Loving

I have so many beauty posts in my drafts right now waiting to be published because I need to get photos together for the blog posts. For now, I am excited to share that the L’Oreal Paris Age Perfect Rosy Tone Moisturizer has been my go-to product lately. The truth is that it was my moms, but I had to steal  borrow it after I used it because it made my skin glow with a rosy tone. Perfect for those days I don’t feel like wearing foundation because it blurs my skin and gives me a pop of color. L’Oreal Lash Paradise mascara has been my daily go-to for months because it builds easily giving my lashes that full lash look that I love. Just had to purchase another one because I am afraid I will run out of it because I use it so much. I have been following the L’Oreal Paradise campaign for a while and I am so excited to try the eyeshadow palette. As soon as I saw it, I knew I needed to get it!

What I’m Reading

I have been wanting to read Grace Not Perfection for a while and finally decided to add it to my weekly Target online order last week. It is still sitting on my dining room table from when I took it out of the box, clearly a sign that I just don’t spend enough time on self-care at night. The goal this week is to spend a little time each night before bed reading or journaling to work on me. Life has been so chaotic lately that I rarely have time to do much else besides work and then snack a bit before going to bed. I’ll let you know in another blog post how much I like this book.

Recent Purchases

img_2813Okay, so after this week I cannot purchase one more thing because I have to go back to sticking to a budget. I made a few Loft purchases and I put everything on the blog here for you to easily see what I have purchased lately. The sales lately have made it impossible not to shop!

I also couldn’t resist some Nordstrom Sale shopping and actually spent less money this year than previous years. I put all of my Nordstrom Sale shopping guides in one blog post to make it easy to get sale details. I only purchased three things, but I am most excited about this purchase. I had a Nordstrom Note that was about to expire so it made it a bit easier to buy with a sale and note.

Adventures Lately

Two weekends ago, I brought a friend with me to my parent’s house to help me finish packing up my bedroom and for a much-needed beach day. We drove to Jersey late Friday night and didn’t get into bed until around 1am. Daire had the great idea of waking up at 5am the next morning to watch the sunrise. I hated her when she woke me up after a few hours of sleep, but happy we got to watch the sunrise on the beach. The last few weeks have taught me that I may not want to do something, but the result is always worth it. It was nice to spend the weekend in my hometown, a place I won’t have much reason to come back to after the move. My weekends this summer has consisted of me driving to Jersey to help my parents pack up the house and wow, you don’t realize how much stuff you have until you have to move!

“Look, mom, I made it” Moment

img_2887Since moving to Philly, I have been working on growing my Instagram and my brand. I still consider the Blonde Rosie a hobby and never see myself turning it into a full-time job, but it is nice to be recognized for the work I put into it. A few weeks ago, I was asked to participate in a paid in store blogger event with Loft and have been featured on the Loft website a few times. For me, it feels so nice to know that the work I put into this website and my Instagram are paying off and people are noticing. There is still so much I want to do with the Blonde Rosie blog and now that I have this little recognition, I am ready to keep investing time and energy into this blog.

New Roommate Update

Ed, the cat, is finally settling into the apartment and getting more comfortable after his big move. Hard to explain to a cat that after his entire life of living in the same big house, he now lives in a little apartment. He wakes me up every morning and itis so cute when he gets into bed around 10pm because he knows it is getting close to bedtime. We consider Ed to be a service animal to help me with being lonely living alone, but honestly, I think he needs me more than I need him!
