I had an actual real Blonde Moment last week when I scheduled this post to be published on Wednesday and then forgot since my life got bust to go back and update it! I was so happy to have some real fall weather the last few days and cannot wait to do all of the fall activities! This weekend I had a few things planned, but adulting got in the way and I had to reschedule for next weekend. Hopefully, there will still be pumpkins left at the pumpkin patch! Once again, I am sharing what I have been up to this week, products I am loving, what I am watching on Netflix and some recent purchases!
Monday was horrible and there isn’t any other way to describe it. I like to think that even on my worst days I can put on a smile and just push on through the day. However, this week I was so sick that I couldn’t even pretend that I was feeling ok. I felt off on Friday so I went to bed early and had to cancel my plans on Saturday because I couldn’t get out of bed. While I was laying in bed on Saturday morning, I kept thinking that I couldn’t remember the last time I was in bed this late or felt this sick. It was the worst type of sick because I had a really bad fever and I felt exhausted whenever I tried to do anything. I had Dayquil in my kitchen and it took me over an hour to get out of bed to get it. After telling Jake that I was fine all day while I was secretly dying but didn’t want to bother him, he came over with soup and bread from Panera. So after being sick all weekend, I forced myself out of bed and had to sit at work feeling miserable. I was really pale, hot and then cold, lightheaded and sleepy. After work on Monday, I got straight into bed and watched tv before I fell asleep with Nyquil in my system.
Tuesday was such a crazy, busy day at work that I literally did not have five minutes to feel sick. The phone was ringing, emails were coming in and I had all of this work to get done before the end of the day. Once I logged off and shut down my computer that night, I had a bit of an adrenaline rush because of how my day was nonstop. I didn’t feel like going to bed straight away, so Jake and I decided to get Panera again for dinner since soup solves all of my problems and watch a few episodes of The Good Place on Netflix. The adrenaline rush did not last long, however, I did start to feel a little bit better than the day before.
Wednesday is usually Jake and my date night, however since I was feeling so sick this week, we agreed to reschedule so I could get to bed early. When I got home after work, I quickly put on pajamas and watched some really bad tv on the couch. It is taking me a few weeks, but I am slowly reading Grace not Perfection when I have a few minutes. At night before bed, I’ll read a page or two and then journal a bit.
Thursday was a productive day at work so the day went by quickly. Right now I am working on an annual report for my boss and had the opportunity to sit in on a firm-wide conference call announcing my new role of Reporting Contact Person. Just a lot more work and responsibility but it’s something I love doing!
Friday was miserable and one of the reasons that I never got to finish this blog post in time! On Friday evenings at work, the office is usually quiet so I like to dedicate the quiet hours to my data entry and reporting. However, two hours before I normally go home, I received three phone calls from my bosses asking if I could help with a project. It was a question, but they really didn’t care if I had plans that night because this project had to get done. It had nothing to do with my job, but it was a Friday night and not that many people were still around so it got put in my lap to finish! Jake and I had plans that night but I had to call him and tell him that I would be stuck in the office for a few hours to get this project done. A few hours turned into 5 and I didn’t get to leave the office until midnight. I am happy that I was able to get the project completed, but I was even happier when I collapsed into my bed around 1am!
What I’m Watching
While I was sick, I needed a show that I could watch that didn’t require too much brain power. I spent my Saturday morning catching up with some of my tv shows and I forgot how much fall tv causes ugly tears! While I was looking for something easy to watch, Jake and I started to watch The Good Place from the beginning and the 22-minute episodes are perfect to binge watch.
Products I’m Loving
I haven’t had much time (or energy) to try any new products this week, however, I did receive a package from Sunday Riley and Influenster with the new Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser this week. I will be testing it out and trying it out this weekend before I review it on the blog. Last week, I did a blog post about the package I received from Charlotte Tilbury and Influenster where I reviewed a few beauty products. My number one favorite thing this week was definitely my Dayquil ha!
When I saw this new Naked Cherry eyeshadow palette from Urban Decay I got so excited! I have not tried it yet, but it is definitely sitting in my shopping cart waiting for an occasion when I can treat myself! Since the original Naked palette was discontinued, I am interested to see if they are going to keep releasing new ones like this instead.
Recent Purchases
Between feeling sick and my tight budget, I haven’t really shopped a lot lately. I did go food shopping and picked up a few fall decorations at Target on Sunday. I didn’t realize how little food I had in my apartment until I went to the food store to buy one thing and came out with $100 worth of food later…. I stocked up on soup (lots of soup!) and plenty of snacks. Jake and I didn’t want to go home right away, so we stopped at Target for something I forget already. A few weeks ago, my mom called me to say she found my box of fall decorations in the new North Carolina house after I spent days tearing my apartment apart trying to find my pumpkins! I picked up a few things from the dollar spot to decorate my mantle and bought face wash. Adulting is not as much fun as I thought it would be! ha! I also have to mention that I just received my Loft package in the mail and you can see what I ordered here.
