Fun Flares

In college I played it safe and looked like everyone else. I dressed like everyone else, had long hair like all of the other girls and tried to blend in. I hated high school because of the feeling of never fitting in and in college I did everything to look like everyone else. Since graduating, I have found that my style has evolved and I like to take risks when it comes to fashion and style. In October 2015, I chopped off 13+ inches of hair to donate to Locks of Love. Then in November I went in for a trim and went for a shorter style. The last year I have been playing with a short stacked bob and now a lob. I feel the excitement of having short hair quickly fading. My hair is so long now compared to how it usually is. A coworker pointed out that my hair was not this long the previous week! It grows so fast, which is awesome when I want to play with it doing different lengths.

Okay, so why are we talking about my hair? Well in college I was known as the blonde girl with long hair. But now I am known as the blonde girl with short hair and I don’t feel that rebellious anymore since everyone around me is getting short hair. Lately, I have tried to break the mold and not dress like everyone else. I like to put my own spin to my outfits, and luckily I work at a job that encourages polka dots matched with polka dots and denim on denim.

While purging my closet recently I found a few pairs of flared jeans. Remember those? They were the jean before skinny jeans became popular. I get to wear jeans to work, but I also do a lot of bending, sitting on the floor, climbing ladders while I am on the clock and skinny jeans are not always comfortable. I started to wear flared jeans to work with my brown booties and it completely changed my look. I always looked okay when I went to work in a button down and jeans with boots, but by replacing my skinny jeans with flared jeans I was able to dress up the look. Also, can I mention they are sooo much more comfortable than squeezing my booty and thighs into jeans!

The jeans below are a more subtle flare but I have also been wearing more jeans with more of a flare at the bottom as well. If you are looking for a new look, I highly encourage you to try some flared jeans!
