decking the halls

My family and I have been working hard since Thanksgiving to get our house ready for Christmas! Finally after bringing up boxes and boxes upstairs all of the decorations are up! This year we have four trees up and all three floors are filled with Christmas spirit. This past weekend was our big Christmas party and the house looked beautiful!

We are so happy with how the tree came together! This year we did something new by only using our red ornaments. This past spring my grandmother passed away so to honor her we also put up every ornament she ever gave us on the tree. Every year my brother and I got an ornament from her for Christmas so it’s magical to see 40 ornaments from her on their. This year it will feel like something is missing when we don’t have her ornament to open…

Earlier this month I went into Williams Sonoma to get my mom Christmas presents. We love this store so I always try to get her a little something I can afford and she can use. I fell in love with their tablescape. The plaid tablecloth alone was a few hundred dollars and the hurricane candle holders were $70 so I admired the table but had to walk away. A week later I went to the Christmas Tree Store and got the hurricane glass holders for $4 for both and two candles for $2! What a bargain!!!  We already had the silk white tablecloth and the plaid runner from Pottery Barn so the look finally was able to come together.DSCN3714DSCN3715

It looks so festive! By far one of my favorite tables I have designed! DSCN3792

Along the stairs we have garland and lights with the stockings going all the way up. Of course the cat gets a stocking full of goodies too!

My favorite room in the house even gets its own decorated mantle and tree!

This is where all of my moms gold and silver ornaments went this year. Oops!DSCN3704I am in love with this view! Spending my nights by the tree cuddled in a blanket are so relaxing.

Hope you like the house!
