Swimwear with Target

I have dozens and dozens of bathing suits in my drawer and every time I go the pool in my building, I have been grabbing the same one-piece bathing suit each time! This striped bathing suit specifically caught my eye immediately because of the fun colors in it. I had it in my shopping cart for weeks trying to convince myself that yes, I needed another bathing suit even though I can barely close my bathing suit drawer as it is. When it went on sale during a Cartwheel promotion I knew I needed to buy it!

Now that I am in my mid-twenties and especially living in a city apartment building, I feel like I can’t get away with lounging by the pool in the tiny bathing suits I wear to the beach. I like that this one has a fun cutout in the front and I can keep eating chips and salsa and not have to worry about my food baby showing (ha!).

Every single time I have gone to the beach or pool this summer, I can’t help but wear this bathing suit! Target has so many amazing bathing suits this summer and the price point is perfect for any budget! A few of the bathing suit styles have started to go to clearance too! As a girl who has not worn a one-piece bathing suit since I was eleven years old, I can’t help but want to buy more one-piece bathing suits! I blame Target and their cute bathing suits this year.

I am also faking my tan this summer with Coola sunless tanning mousse because it starts to turn my skin a natural looking tan within hours. I did a little photoshoot for Coola a few weeks ago and was so tan when I went down to the pool a few hours later. Now that I see my pale skin in these photos from over the weekend, I will be re-applying as soon as I can tonight! This upcoming weekend, I am visiting a childhood friend in my hometown for a beach day and I need a little glow before I step foot onto the beach! That is why I love Coola because it is natural looking and I tan quickly.

Hello, August + Instagram Round-Up

I feel like the 4th of July was forever ago, but then the rest of the month just flew by! This month, I spent my weekends driving back home to Jersey to pack up the house before the move and then finding room in my apartment for all of the things I brought back with me. My family and I filled two big moving trucks with belongings and filled dozens of garbage bags full of things we just couldn’t keep. As much as I dreaded driving back to Jersey on the weekends to clean and pack, I tried to enjoy each time being home as much as I could. July was a busy month for me with every hour planned out for something to do or somewhere to be. Hopefully this month I can actually be lazy on weekends and enjoy some of the amenities of my building, I have a pool and I have only been in it once! Tomorrow Will Be Better

At work, my desk has turned into Rosie’s therapy corner where the interns like to come to my desk, vent about their day and I send them back to their desk with some words of wisdom. It is not my job or anyone else’s to discredit anyone’s feelings or say they should just feel better because I said so. We are all allowed to feel discouraged, but I tell everyone that tomorrow will be better. Tomorrow is a chance to start again. And every single time, the next day is always better.  Continue reading “Tomorrow Will Be Better”

girly chic bathroom

shower curtain // bath mat // soap dispenser // garbage can

Finally sharing some pictures of my apartment bathroom! I wanted to keep the same girly chic theme and knew that pink would go well with the brown sink and mirror. Unfortunately, my bathroom has the worst lighting in the entire world!! It is this yellow tone and very dark no matter what I do to try and fix it. When I moved into the apartment,  I didn’t have much decor for my bathroom besides the white floor mat. Luckily, Target made it very easy to buy my bathroom essentials and decor because they had everything. Apartment bathrooms can be small with very little personality with outdated fixtures, but with the right decor you can make this space special!

I keep all of my products in my linen closet attached to my bathroom or in my vanity. I try to keep as little as possible in my bathroom or else it starts to look messy.  It makes getting ready in the morning super easy because everything is always where it needs to be and makes cleaning up go by quickly. I added as much white as I could to brighten up the room and touches of pink to add some personality. I love the way this room turned out!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday, friends! Does anyone else feel like this week just flew by? I spent last weekend at our house in Jersey boxing up as much as I could before the movers showed up on Wednesday. If this move has taught me anything, it is to have very few things in life! I felt like whenever I was done packing up a room, we would turn around and find more stuff to pack up! I ended up taking another car full of stuff that my parents were not keeping and I felt like I could find room for it in my apartment. LOL because while I do have a big apartment, I am truly running out of space to put things. All of my Christmas decorations are shoved on a shelf in my coat closet and I have stacks of books that my mom gave me. I need to make a trip to Target to get another bookcase to keep these books. The tricky part now is finding space in my apartment for another bookcase!

I spent the last month commuting back to Jersey to pack up the house and I am excited to finally stay put in Philly for August. I am trying not to commit to any plans because I definitely need a weekend that I just sit by the pool in my building doing nothing. I hate to say it, but besides unpacking boxes and cleaning up my apartment, I did very little else this week. Honestly, most nights I have been sitting in my pajamas on the couch eating Cheerios out of the box watching Suits and I have been enjoying every minute of it. I have turned into such a homebody this past year, but I just love my apartment so much that I never want to leave.

What I’m Watching

I am still watching Suits on Amazon Prime and have found myself waking up earlier in the morning to watch an episode before work. This show is so addicting that I blame it for not leaving my apartment this week!

Products I Am Loving

While packing up the house last weekend, I stole  borrowed a ton of products from my mom’s bathroom and brought them to Philly with me. I am loving the Aveeno Daily Moisture Lotion lately and use it before bed after I shower and in the morning if I wear a dress to work. Over the weekend, I did a final Costco trip (RIP free Costco Membership) and stocked up on a few essentials. When I was in college, I would buy all of my beauty and bath products at Costco because I would just have to buy them once a year. I stocked up on this Olay Ultra Moisture Body Wash that I use daily in the shower especially what I use to shave my legs with. I have had this pump version of the Olay Body Wash in my shower for the last few months and love the convenience of it so much that I may just pour the ones I bought at Costco into this bottle. The best part about living alone is being able to pick out my own soap for my bathroom, seems silly but I choose the Dove Beauty Bars every time! Now I have a lifetime supply of them from Costco so I should be okay for a while LOL.

What I’m Reading

With my work schedule this week, I didn’t have much energy to read before bed. However, I love having the news sent to my inbox each morning because I can read the news real quick while I take a break at work or on my lunch. I have all of my favorite news blast email accounts here in a previous blog post. I recommend everyone to sign up if you only have five minutes of free time in your day, but want to stay informed.

Recent Purchases

Honestly, I deserve a medal this week because I did not buy one single thing. A big reason for that is because rent is due, so I don’t have any fun recent purchases to share. However, you can always check to see what I bought from Loft recently here and I am always updating this page when I make new purchases or new clothes come in.
