November To Do List

November is the first month for me in a while that everything is up in the air and I don’t have anything really planned yet in my planner. However, the one important thing I  have to do in November is to vote! If you are like me and don’t know where to vote, you can find your polling place here. Once you have your voting out of the way, you can start to plan some other fun things to do in the fall months. This week, I am stocking up on my favorites, apple cider, and cinnamon donuts. Below are some of the things I have planned to do in November.

Coffee Shops

I cannot wait to go on walks on Sunday mornings to start trying new coffee shops around Philly. I have a stack of books waiting to be read in my bedroom and my plan this month is to grab a book and catch up on some reading at a coffee shop. With the cooler temperatures, I tend to stay indoors more often so I think this will be a good way to find an excuse to leave my apartment and still stay warm!

Window Shopping

My shopping budget this month is $0, but that doesn’t stop me from looking! I love to walk around the shops in Rittenhouse to see all of the new fall styles. I keep telling myself that it is research for the blog 😉

Breakfast In Bed

For those really chilly mornings on the weekend, I cannot wait to make breakfast and a cup of warm coffee and head back into bed to watch Netflix all morning. I did it a few weeks ago when I had a really bad cold and I wondered why I didn’t make time for this more often. I usually miss most of my shows on tv during the week so Saturday mornings are the perfect time to catch up while staying cozy in bed.

Wear Sweaters

I will not admit how many sweaters I own because there are a lot. Every year, more sweaters arrive and I convince myself that yes, I need all of them. Sweater Season is one of my favorites because you can’t go wrong with a cozy sweater, dark skinny jeans, and boots! Now my goal is to not buy one more sweater this season but we shall see how long this lasts!

Decorate My Mantle

Yes, I am that crazy girl who has a fake fireplace in her apartment. I love the look of a fireplace and grew up watching my mom decorate her mantle for every season, so when I saw a fake fireplace for sale at a garage sale years ago, I knew I needed to have it. Before moving, I painted the entire fireplace white so it would match with my white walls. Right now, I have some fall decor on my mantle and it makes my apartment a lot homier.

Catch Up On Netflix Shows

I am so behind on so many Netflix series and fall tv shows. I plan on taking my evenings easy and curl up on the couch with soup, a fall scented candle and a million throw blankets to watch tv. I put together a list of my favorite fall tv shows and I would love to know what you are watching on Netfix.

Cozy Pajamas

I seriously have a problem and own too many pajamas. Right now, I am working on getting a holiday pajama guide together for the blog because I have a few in my shopping cart that I just need to have!

Stock Up On Throw Blankets

This past weekend, I had the flu and lived on the couch as I rested to get better. Thank goodness for my obsession with blankets because they were all needed over the weekend! I am so happy I picked up this blanket a few weeks ago because it was the perfect plush throw to curl up in!

Go Hiking

Okay, so maybe not a real hike but I do want to walk around the Schuylkill River Trail this fall and enjoy the fall leaves. Hopefully soon, I can throw on some sneakers and get a warm cup of coffee and just enjoy a long walk along the Schuylkill.

Walk Around the City

I haven’t been able to experience Philadelphia in the fall yet and I cannot wait to experience it for myself. Living in a city has been a big adjustment for me especially when I have to get to places. To save money, I recently gave up my parking garage space in the city and parked my car in front of my boyfriend’s apartment to save money. Not that I ever used my car that much, I am still adjusting to using public transportation more often to get around. Walking around on weekends is a great way to explore and see what happens when you turn left…

Bake

I have a few recipes saved and a few mixes of pumpkin flavored muffins in my pantry. I love going to Trader Joe’s and picking up their seasonal baking mixes. Also, baking gives you major brownie points if you bring them into work 🙂

Eat Outside

November weather can be tricky because some days it is freezing and others it is the perfect fall weather. I am hoping to enjoy a meal or two outside before the weather turns too cold. I hate that I find excuses to stay indoors more often during the colder months and I am hoping that I can find as many excuses as I can to enjoy the outdoors. I would love to know what you are up to this month!
