But everyone can agree on one thing: tans fade, highlights go dark and we all get sick of sand in our shoes. But the end of summer is the beginning of a new season. So we find ourselves looking to the future. – GG
Summer has slowly come to an end and now it feels like fall is popping up everywhere. I see stores with their fall collections, Starbucks PSL’s and it’s impossible to walk through Target and not buy a pumpkin in the dollar section! I never thought I would say this, but I am officially ready for fall! I spent my Labor Day Weekend soaking up the sun in my parents’ pool at their new house in North Carolina. They moved in a few weeks ago and I got to see the house in person for the first time. It is the perfect Southern Charm home with double doors, a big front porch, and that old house charm. My boyfriend and I drove to North Carolina after work on Friday and with the rain/monsoon it took us a few more hours than it should have. It was a short visit, but I am so happy I got to get some family time in and soak up the sun one final time.
In July, I spent every single weekend driving back and forth to our house in New Jersey to pack it up for the move and August honestly just flew by! My next few weekends are filled with plans so far and I cannot wait for a lazy Sunday doing nothing. There is still plenty of things on my summer bucket list that I need to get to like Spruce Street Harbor Park, but luckily I can go explore sometime after work before it closes. For me, summer usually flies by, but I can say that I had a productive and busy summer and I am ready for fall to begin. Before I moved to Philly, people warned me about the heat and I believed them, but highly underestimated what summer in a city feels like! Fall, I am so ready for you!!
What I’m Watching
So, long story short – my cable and wifi were not working for almost two weeks leaving me stranded without entertainment. I was afraid I would have to stare at my walls and watch the paint dry, but instead, I started to watch an old movie series like Pirates of the Caribbean and Lord of the Rings at night before bed. I’m the type of person that just constantly needs to have background noise on when I am in the apartment. Anyone else? Now that my cable and wifi are back on, I cannot wait to finish the last season of Suits!
Products I’m Loving
I recently received a PR package from Charlotte Tilbury and I am so so so excited to start using these products! I went makeup-free while visiting the parents and I don’t get all glam for work, so this weekend I am planning to have some fun with them. I have heard amazing things about the Magic Cream and she is known for her lipsticks. This eyeshadow pencil will be fun to use for date nights to add some extra sparkle to my eyes 😉
What I’m Reading
The third book from the Me Before You series has been sitting on my bedside table for a few weeks now because every time I would start reading in bed, I would fall asleep before I could fall asleep! My goal for this upcoming week is to schedule some time before bed and actually get some reading done. I have had this book on my to read list for a long time and I want to see what happens next in this series! With fall comes reasons to bundle up in cozy pajamas so I cannot wait to wear these and snuggle up with a good book.
Recent Purchases
My budget has definitely shrunk in size the last few weeks just because rent takes a big chunk of money out of my checking account each month. I am trying to be more aware of what I am spending my money on and limit my impulse purchases. This month, I am trying to go the whole month without buying clothes (pray for me!) and to meal prep instead of buying food for dinner or lunch. We’ll see how long that lasts! Now when I want to buy something, I give it a few weeks to see if I really need it. Thanks to Bath and Body Works advertising, I had to splurge and buy a few things from their new Rose Collection. Seriously– I am obsessed! My Bath and Body Works Haul appeared on the blog here. I thought it would be fun to share my weekly purchases on my Blog Facebook page for all of you to see. That way, I can quickly share sales, deals, and things I think you need to buy.
