I am so excited to share my experience and some photos of the Loft on Walnut Summer Celebration event on the blog today. It honestly was such a surprise to be invited because while I call myself a “blogger”, I feel more like a wannabe blogger because I don’t put as much time and energy in it like other bloggers do. This little blog started as a creative outlet like most blogs start, but I don’t pay for photos, I use my iPhone to take pictures and my mom is taking most of my outfit photos! So, of course, this event felt like a “hey mom, I made it moment!” One of the exciting parts of this whole day was being called a blogger by other people besides my close friends. This honestly has and always will be a hobby of mine, so it means the world when strangers look to me as an influencer. A lot of time and energy goes into photos on Instagram or a blog post, so it means the world to me when people notice my hard work.
Loft on Walnut reached out to me on a Friday asking to participate in their Summer Celebration shopping event to share some outfits on my social media. This was my very first invite to an event as a blogger, so it was nice to shop and spend time with other bloggers. I quickly learned that these other girls had way more followers than me and were professionals at this blogging thing. It was kinda weird to see people in person that I have been following on Instagram and nice at the same time to be on my phone constantly and not be judged because we were all doing the same thing! My friends roll their eyes when I say that I need to get a picture for the Instagram and on Sunday, it was so nice to be surrounded by positive people helping to pick out a cute outfit and full of compliments. Everyone was so sweet and supportive of each other’s blog and Instagram. I am sure we spent more time sharing blog advice and encouraging each other than trying on outfits!
Loft went all out for this event with hair braiding by DryBar, gifts with purchase and a fun energized spirit in the store. The employees were excited when they saw us trying clothes on and everyone was just excited to be there. Putting a bunch of bloggers together is dangerous because we kept telling each other that we needed to buy everything that we tried on.
When Loft asked me to put together cute outfits, I wanted to ask with the clothes that I have purchased in the last two weeks or with the clothes I have not purchased *yet*? In the last year especially, I have been in love with Loft and it is slowly taking over my closet. Their work clothes are on point – comfortable, cute and the perfect amount of conservative that you don’t have to ask yourself if it is okay for work. Their loungewear is my weakness, especially the Lou and Grey collection. I purposely avoid that section of the store because I need everything because it is so soft. Loungewear that looks cute at the same time? Yes, please! Most of my casual clothes for weekends are now from the Loft as well. If it is lunch with friends, a trip to Target or the grocery store, I want to look cute but also comfortable. Loft gives me the cute clothes without having to think too much about what to wear. While I was at Loft, I tried on some cute outfits and shared them on my Insta Stories. If you missed it or want the outfit details, I have photos and links to everything I tried on!
