My outfit screams 1990s! The turtleneck and the bootcut jeans are two styles that us 90s kids wore daily. I talked about how my mom would make me wear stiff, uncomfortable turtlenecks almost daily on my Instagram earlier. Lately, I’ve been getting bored with the skinny jean look and when I want to get a little more dressed up at work, I’ll wear my bootcut, flares jeans and a healed bootie. Sometimes I feel like I look like a total mom in them 😜 . However, every time I wear these jeans, I inspire others to step away from the familiar skinny jean and get a pair of bootcut jeans.
If you work in an office and have casual Fridays, bootcut jeans are an easy way to dress down, but still look presentable at work. I had a friend reach out shortly after I posted my photo on Instagram asking where to get a pair, so I thought I would do a quick blog post to share some links.
My denim is a few years old that I picked up at New York & Company. My pants are actually reallllly long that look silly when I don’t have a heel on. Instead of hemming them, I just fold them under to create the length or look that fits best with each heel. If you find a pair that are too long, don’t fret- just fold them under!
