Rosie Lately

Rosie Lately

Hello hello, friends! Lately my personal and work life has been getting in the way of my blogging. I first started blogging as a creative outlet because I was so bored with my life, but now I find myself staying up late to write blog posts or neglecting to do photoshoots because I just cannot find the time. I thought it would be fun to add a new part of the blog called Rosie Lately to recap my past week so I have a new outlet to share what is going on in my life and a way to share more photos.

When I first started Blonde Rosie, I didn’t care if anyone read the blog because I wasn’t looking for fame or “blogger mail”. Now when I run into friends and family, they bring up on how much they like my blog and look forward to new posts each week. I love to hear that you guys read posts and support my little hobby. Feel free to let me know if there is anything you would like me to cover more on the blog. I try not to be too superficial on the blog, yes some posts are sponsored, but I prefer taking photos on my iPhone so they don’t look over processed.

Instagram and Snapchat is the best way to see what I am up to in my daily life. This includes my outfit of the day, my trips to Target and just what I am up to on a normal day.

I want to share these more personal moments on the blog to share with you guys. I have a small blog and my life isn’t that interesting compared to other bloggers and celebrities out there. But when I see bloggers with a few thousand followers, I noticed that everything in their lives looks a little too perfect. Ya know? Sorry, I didn’t make my bed this morning or there are clothes on the floor in the background of a Snapchat video of my cat doing something stupid. I am just your average 20 something year old stressed out about work, trying to pay bills on time who has an obsession with Target and overpriced coffee. Can anyone else relate?

I am going to start doing weekly blog posts called Rosie Lately so I can share with you guys my victories and failures, my outfits of the day and other personal stuff going on in my life. Check back every Monday to see what I have been up to the previous week!

What I’ve Been Up To

img_5548Like most weeks, I once again jammed a lot of stuff into one week and tried to over accomplish things. I was talking to coworker about the hours I work, what I get done in a week and I still show up to work with a cute outfit with hair and makeup done. My secret? Coffee. Lots of coffee! It is a lot of multitasking, but I can still finish an entire Netflix series in a week and still get sleep! I wrote a post this past week on rituals and how sticking to them allow me to get a lot done in a week. I love rituals so much, I wrote another post about it here last month. I love having a million things to do and a strict schedule. I know, I’m weird!img_5555

Still always late to everything!

It was my dad’s birthday on Saturday and we spent the entire weekend celebrating him! On Saturday morning I had to be at the store at 8am so we all woke up extra early to have breakfast together and we went to the Asbury Biergarten on Sunday night for his surprise party. Ed helped me wrap his golf bag and then discovered it could be used as a toy ha! Silly kitty!

Okay, so big news first… I cut my hair! This was planned a month in advance because I needed a trim, but I also wanted to do something new with my hair. My hair stylist, Jenna did an amazing cut and we decided to add some curls for a fun look. I have received a lot of compliments on my hair since I got it cut, but often followed with a “I could never do that”. I went for so many years with long, thick blonde hair and since I got my hair cut I have only felt more confident. With the right style, anyone can pull of short hair!

I woke up early before work to get ready. Most of the curls had fallen since the night before and it literally took me 15 minutes to curl my hair. A lot shorter than the usual 40 minutes it used to take me! Expect to see a lot of selfies on social media because I am obsessed my hair now.

On the weekends I try to wear skirts to work to get a little dressed up. Even though it is technically spring, the weather has not be that warm… I paired a pink skirt from Topshop that I got at Goodwill and paired it with some J. Crew polka dots. I feel like Polka dots are tricky to pull off especially for the office, but with the right skirt and color palette, you can make a look be cute but office appropriate.

A few weeks ago, it was National Stripe Day (a made up J Crew holiday, but aren’t holidays made up?) and I got to celebrate at work that day. I never just wear a t shirt to work so I had to find ways to dress up my outfit. With some fun blue J. Crew stripes tee, my pink J. Crew vest, denim with a pink bow belt and flats I was able to get dressed up for the holiday.

I am the queen of clearance. This was before I started working part time in retail too. My budget for clothes has drastically gotten smaller in 2017, but when this J Crew top went to clearance, I needed it.  The top is super comfortable with some pink tulle making it look like a ballerina skirt. It is just a shirt, but with tulle and a cute matching necklace, I was able to dress it up for work. This outfit was tutu cute!

This striped shirt was everywhere a few months ago, but my budget would not let me spend that much money on a shirt. Then I found it in our clearance section and it immediately came home with me! This top is amazing and is obviously a statement piece. I will have this in my closet for decades so it is definitely worth the investment.

  2. Love that striped top in the last picture. It will be a timeless classic for years and years. You have so many great hair styles, I just love it. I couldn’t help but notice your black Tory Burch flats. Aren’t they great! I’m sure it’s no surprise that I have the same ones 🙂
