Welcome back to another Blonde Moment, a series on my blog that I fill you all in on what I have been up to during the week and what I am currently watching, wearing and buying. Unfortunately, this past week was kind of uneventful because I was busy at work a lot and still recovering from being sick the week before. I was too tired to walk home most days and crashed right into bed promising myself that I would get everything done “tomorrow”. Anyone else having a rough time transitioning into the colder weather?
Monday was an absolute blur for me because it was the start of a week-long event at work so lots of incoming calls, never-ending emails and lots of coordinating that day. I ended up getting home later than planned but still had so much to do that night. A neighbor of mine was throwing out a TV stand which is hilarious because I almost bought the same one over the weekend! Jake always mocked how tiny my tv was in my living room because it was originally the tv in my bedroom so I never needed a big one. We watch a lot of tv and movies at my place, so he insisted on giving me a bigger (muchhh bigger) tv which was great, but my little bookcase/tv stand no longer worked. I really didn’t want to buy a tv stand so I am so happy I was able to get one for free instead! Monday night consisted of us moving furniture around to make the new tv stand fit and finally put together this bench that I bought weeks ago! My living room is a disaster, but overall I love how my tv finally has a real tv stand!
Tuesday was another busy day with lots going on at work. More than anything I just wanted to curl up on my couch and catch up on my tv shows. Instead, I had a messy apartment that needed to be cleaned and a million other projects I wanted to get done. In an effort to save money, I decided to stop paying for my parking pass at my building to save a few hundred dollars a month. Luckily, I have a boyfriend who lives in an apartment with free street parking so we joke that he got a free car out of this relationship! After work, I had to have him drive my car back to his apartment and turn in my parking pass when I had a million other things to get done that night. The good news is that my bookcases were finally moved, filled and decorated like I wanted and I had some time to clean up the living room.
Wednesday was a tough hump day and no amount of coffee was helping! The previous week I was sick and didn’t take the time I needed to get better. Big mistake! Especially when this last week was very busy at work because of the work event. The day just seemed to drag on and I was so excited when I got home that night. I made dinner and tried to clean up my kitchen before heading to bed before my usual bedtime.
Thursday is when things at work started to slow down. Yay! Since I was still recovering from a cold and was exhausted from work, I spent most of my free time this week after work cleaning up my apartment. There were a few boxes left over from transitioning my closet and my living room needed some help after I decided to rearrange all of my furniture for some reason ha! My goal is to do a better job of keeping my apartment neat because lately, it has turned into a mess!
Friday took forever to get here but I was so excited when it did! This week has taught me that I really need to take better care of my body because when I try to accomplish too many things at once, it all falls apart! I started to put off the things that I needed to get done and couldn’t get the energy to do the things that I love to do. This blog post was 98% finished, but I ran out of time and energy to hit publish. I really don’t know how other people juggle work, a social life and getting enough sleep during the week. I am exhausted!
What I’m Watching
I didn’t have much time for tv this week because I have been trying to be productive after work catching up on laundry, cleaning the apartment and rearranging furniture. I did, however, catch up on The Resident this week and The Good Place. There are a few shows on Amazon Prime that I want to start binging but I need to catch up on my Fall tv! I also highly suggest the new show, New Amsterdam!
Products I’m Loving
This week at work has been kinda crazy with an important week-long event so I have had to dress cute and have my hair and makeup done every day for work. After not straightening my hair for over a week and wearing minimal or no makeup lately, this was a big change! My favorite under eye concealer has been a blessing to hide the fact that I am not getting enough sleep this week! My skin always looks better when I wear foundation and I love the glow and coverage that this foundation has. My morning routine lately has been foundation, under eye concealer and blush. I have been using this eyeshadow palette every day because it brightens my eyes hiding that I look more awake than I am ha! I’ll then finish with some liquid eyeliner and lots of mascara.
Recent Purchases
Honestly, I deserve a medal because I did very little spending this week! Last weekend, I did go to Homegoods and TJ Maxx and only walk out with a new eyeshadow palette (it was on sale!!) and a toothbrush holder. Now I need someone to convince me that I don’t need this sweater because right now it is sitting in my online shopping cart waiting to be checked out!
What I’m Wearing
At work this week, I have been dressing up a bit more than usual because of the week-long event we have been having in the office. Luckily, I have a closet full of clothes to wear to the office so it makes looking cute for work super easy. Before the weather turned chilly, I had planned to wear dresses or skirts to the office but instead, I have been wearing these pants every day because I am not kidding when I saw them I own them in multiple colors ha! Seriously, they are so great for work because they are super flattering and easy to make outfits with. Over time, most of my closet has mostly turned into clothes from the Loft because it makes getting dressed for work super easy! Seriously, every time Loft comes out with a new collection I need to buy everything!
