L’Oreal Elvive Rapid Reviver Deep Conditioner

After having long hair for years during college, a few months after graduation I did the big chop. It wasn’t my first time donating to locks of love, but I literally had to beg my salon to cut my hair because it was long, blonde and the girls had so much fun styling it when I would visit weekly for a blowout. HA! There was once a time in my life I could afford to get my hair done once a week! My hair was long and healthy but I wanted a change. So after cutting off 14 inches to donate to locks of love, I would let my hair get shoulder length and then go back and cut it shorter. I’ve had short hair for a few years now but lately, I want something different. Now for the first time in three years, I am growing my hair long again and it is not happy!

My hair has always been one of my best features when I actually put time into styling it. Over the last few months, I have noticed that I have more split ends and dry hair than I ever had before! I think it’s from having haircuts every few months and keeping my hair shoulder length or shorter for years, my hair just isn’t used to being long again! After trying every product on the market, I think I finally found the hair routine that keeps my hair healthy, strong and growing!

L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil Rapid Reviver Deep Conditioner

I have worked with L’Oreal in the past with Influencer and was excited when they sent me the Extraordinary Oil Deep Conditioner. It is a conditioning serum and camellia + sunflower oil that helps hydrate each strand, for silkier, softer hair. After a few weeks of using this conditioner, I have immediately seen a difference in my hair! One of the selling points to this deep conditioner is that it is made for daily use instead of once or twice a week like most other deep conditioners. You also just have to leave it on for just one minute in the shower, unlike most other deep conditioners that suggest you keep it on for a few minutes.

Before using any hot tools on my hair, I still use L’Oreal hair primer and heat spray to protect my hair from the heat. Since using the deep conditioner with my regular L’Oreal shampoos, I have seen a very big change in my hair. It’s healthier, stronger and looks better than ever!

L’Oreal is one of those brands that I can trust and I know it will work. My bathroom is stocked with their Elvive shampoos and conditioners, the protein recharge treatment, and now the deep conditioner.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Okay, sit down, get comfortable and maybe get a cup of coffee because I am only going to write about the famous Nordstrom Sale once on the blog so this is going to be a long post. I will be coming back to add to this blog post when the sale starts to add my favorite items as well as items that are worth buying. I will be putting easy to shop links on my Blog Facebook page, so be sure to follow along there. Once the sale starts, I will have links to shop the Nordstrom Sale that I hope you use when making purchases because then I get a very small commission for each link clicked and purchases made with my link. Since every other blogger out there is going to be writing about it, I wanted to put my two cents in about some tricks I have learned over the years and talk about what is actually worth purchasing. I am a broke, full time working, shoe loving, rent-paying gal over here, so I make sure to justify any purchase before buying it because buying new shoes may mean pasta for dinner for the third night in a row next week to balance my budget! what’s the deal with sulfate free shampoo?

As an adult, we make a lot of decisions in our life. From picking out our outfit for work in the morning, what we are making for dinner, and what type of car insurance we commit too. The last thing I want to do is stand in the shampoo aisle and pick out a shampoo. I know it seems silly, but do you realize how many options there are??? Luckily, I have been blessed by having companies send me shampoos or coupons towards them to try the last few months ,so I haven’t had to make that type of commitment.

I have been coloring my hair for about a decade, so picking the right shampoo is important to preserve my hair color and keep its shine.  My day is always significantly better when I am having a good hair day. I get compliments daily on my hair even when it is dirty and I have used an entire can of dry shampoo! My shiny, healthy and full head of hair is possible because I take reallly good care of my hair. Even after using heat tools almost daily, my hair shows little damage because I take care of it. This month, I am using Garnier Whole Blends shampoo to give my hair a break from chemicals and have pure, clean hair.

Switching to a sulfate-free shampoo is a good move for anyone who wants to keep their hair healthy, full and shiny especially if you color your hair. Sulfate-free shampoo preserves your natural hair oils leaving it feeling softer that when you use shampoos that strip your hair of good and bad oils. The only negative is that without the sulfates (which helps create the extra bubbles to help lathering easier) it is a bit difficult to wet my hair and scrub my hair with its normal amount of shampoo. I make two squirts of shampoo, one for on top of my head and another at my neck to make sure I wash all of my hair.

Sulfate-free shampoos can help to make your hair smoother, repairing dry, damaged hair, especially color treated hair. If you use a lot of hair products or always have greasy hair, try switching to a sulfate free shampoo. The shampoo can help strip away gunk left over from all of those products, but also keep the natural oils that keep your hair healthy, while getting rid of the oil that makes your hair greasy. This is a miracle worker for frizzy hair because instead of relying on products to tame the frizz, sulfate-free shampoo keeps the natural oils on your hair to tame the frizz naturally. Frizzy hair is often caused by dry hair after a shampoo strips away good and bad oils. Finally, if you have thin hair this can help create some body for you. Instead of your hair being weighed down by products or because it is dry, sulfate-free shampoo gives you that healthy hair with a bit of volume.

I encourage you to grab a bottle the next time you are in the shampoo aisle! I am in loooove with the coconut one and it makes my hair smell amazing!
