Trip To The Pumpkin Patch + Fall Bucket List

I don’t care how old I am, but I will always make the effort to go to a pumpkin patch in the fall. This year, I ended up going to two of them in one weekend… I had a rare Saturday off of work and drove down to Philly to go pumpkin picking with some friends. In college, it is something us gals did while living together, so it was nice to be able to make the effort and do it again.

The day we picked to go pumpkin picking was 86 degrees outside. We had cute denim and riding boots picked out to wear, but quickly realized we needed different outfits. I wore my fall favorite brown corduroy skirt and a brown gingham shirt even though I was sweating the entire day! My friend, Daire, ended up wearing my plaid dress I had packed to wear to work the next day. None of us planned to have a hot fall day!img_8433img_8428img_8424img_8404img_8410img_8394

That Monday, I played hooky and didn’t go into the office to spend some time with my family instead. Growing up, we always went to Delicious Orchards with my grandmother and to this day we go every year in her memory. As my dad says, it’s pumpkin picking without the dirt! Most of the pumpkins are picked, washed and polished before being put into boxes!

Hopefully it starts to feel like fall around here. We get one chilly day and then the next day I am wearing a short sleeve shirt and jeans!

  1. Fall Home Decor
This is something I did mid-September even though it was still so hot out when I did it. Most of my fall decor is from Target that I purchased after fall when it went to Clearance.
  2. Hiking
With the leaves changing colors I like to spend as much time as I can outdoors. Going on a hike has been on my to do list for a while… I just need to block out some time and actually go.
  3. Hocus Pocus
I love the classic ABC Family Halloween movies and I am very disappointed that I haven’t watched one of them yet. Last Halloween, I had just had surgery so I was on bedrest for a few days. All I did was watch ABC Family movies and I felt like such a kid.
  4. Fall Scented Candles
One of the first things I do when I get home from work is to light a scented candle. I am so embarrassed about the amount of fall scented candles I have right now…
  5. Spending Time In The Kitchen
I rarely cook in the summer, but something about fall makes me want to eat stuffing or chili everyday. I love Thanksgiving because of all of the food and that pie is acceptable to eat for every meal ha!
